Release notes for the Content Pack for Splunk Observability Cloud

Version 3.0.0 of the Content Pack for Splunk Observability Cloud was released on November 30, 2022. The following sections describe the contents of the current release.

New features

The following features are included in version 3.0.0 of the Content Pack for Splunk Observability Cloud:

New feature or enhancement	Description
Introduction of macro-based indexes	The Content Pack for Splunk Observability Cloud is updated to support macro-based indexes so that the customer can update the respective macros when ingesting data in the custom index.
Integrated Synthetics Observability data	The Content Pack for Splunk Observability Cloud now supports integrating Synthetic Observability data into ITSI.
Synthetic monitoring content pack	Synthetic monitoring (through Rigor) that was part of the Splunk Observability Cloud content pack is now repackaged as a separate content pack included as part of the Splunk App for Content Packs. This Content Pack for Observability Cloud version 3.0.0 connects directly to the new Synthetics feature using the existing SIM Add-on that all of the other services also use to connect to Splunk Observability Cloud.
