Load Balancer Module KPIs and Thresholds

This section details the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Load Balancer Module for ITSI. The KPIs impact the Health Score of your services.

The default KPI calculation window for this module is Last 15 minutes, and calculation interval is Every 5 minutes. Adjust the search calculation interval for each supported add-on to match the five minute ITSI module calculation interval.

Adjust the search calculation time for this module:

  1. From the ITSI main menu, click Configuration > KPI Base Searches.
  2. Navigate to the KPI you want to modify, and select Edit > Clone.
  3. Name your cloned KPI base search and click Clone Page.
  4. Click on the KPI you want to modify.
  5. Navigate to KPI Search Schedule, and select Every 5 Minutes from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click Save.

KPI and Threshold Reference Table

KPI Name Description Unit Type Threshold Values
5XX Responses from Server Total number of responses returned to the client as an error 5xx. count Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
Availability Number of available servers. count Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
Client Connections The average number of connections from users/agents/clients. count Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
Client Throughput The amount of data sent to and from the load balancer to the client. GB/sec Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
Concurrent Sessions Total number of client sessions currently active. count Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
CPU Utilization % By System How much CPU availability has been used across all available cores. % Normal: < 70, Medium: 70-90, High: > 90
Failover The failover status of the load balancer. count Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day.
Memory Used % By System Total memory used, by percent. % Normal: < 70, Medium: 70-90, High: > 90
Round Trip Time The amount of time it takes for the response from the server to return to the client. ms Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
Server Connections The average number of connections to the upstream server pool. count Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
Server Throughput The amount of data sent to and from the load balancer to the upstream servers. GB/sec Adaptive thresholding - 2 hour window every day
