Release notes for the Splunk Add-on for OPC

Version 1.0.1 of the Splunk Add-on for OPC was released on January 16, 2019.

Compatibility

Version 1.0.1 of the Splunk Add-on for OPC is compatible with the following software, CIM versions, and platforms.

New features

The add-on now supports millisecond-based timestamps for events to improve precision.

The Troubleshooting dashboard has been enhanced to show additional details.

• A new panel for Throughput allows you to identify the processing throughput of the add-on.
• A new panel for Queue Time vs Transformation+Consumer Time allows you to compare the average queue time for events with the average transformation and consumer time of the notifications from the OPC server.
• New panels for Memory Utilization and CPU Utilization allow you to troubleshoot system utilization metrics.
• Minimum, Maximum, and Average values were added for all of the metrics to better understand system performance.

The logging for the add-on has been updated to log each Data Source Group configured and additional log files for each task being performed by the add-on. If you have monitoring searches that refer to specific log files, update those searches to use the new log files.
