Install and Upgrade Splunk User Behavior Analytics

License Splunk UBA

After you install Splunk UBA, add your license file to continue using it.

Upload a license file

To start using Splunk UBA, or to add a new license file to replace one that will expire, upload a license file to Splunk UBA.

  1. Select Manage > License.
  2. Click Choose File and select the license file to upload.
  3. Click Open to upload the license file.

When your license file is within 30 days of expiring, admins will see notifications in Splunk UBA.

View your license file

Perform the following steps to view your Splunk UBA license file:

  1. Select Manage > License.
  2. View the License, Creation Date, Expiration Date, and License Status.
  3. Click OK to close the window.

Splunk UBA behavior without a valid license

Without a valid license, Splunk UBA will not ingest data. Data is not queued, ingestion stops, and the Data Sources page shows a Suspended state. You cannot add new data sources or output connectors until you upload a valid license file. You can continue to use Splunk UBA dashboards with old, historical data.
