jQuery 3.5 for Splunk Cloud Platform and Splunk Enterprise users

Splunk platform users might encounter issues with dashboards that have not yet been updated to work with jQuery 3.5. In Splunk Cloud Platform version 8.2.2201 and lower, users can temporarily view dashboards with older versions of jQuery.

Beginning with Splunk Cloud Platform 8.2.2022 and higher, only dashboards that are version 1.1 are valid. If you load a version 1.0 dashboards, Splunk Cloud Platform redirects you to view the dashboard in version 1.1. You must update all version 1.0 dashboards to version 1.1.

Update your dashboards to work with jQuery 3.5

If you encounter an issue with jQuery in a Simple XML dashboard that you own, update your custom JavaScript to work with jQuery 3.5, and certify that the dashboard works with jQuery 3.5 by adding version="1.1" to the root node of the dashboard source code. This version tag is required beginning in Splunk Cloud Platform 8.2.2202 and higher. For more information about how to update and certify your dashboards, see Manage dashboards that need jQuery updates in the Dashboards and Visualizations manual.

If you encounter an issue with jQuery in a HTML dashboard that you own, rebuild your HTML dashboards in Dashboard Studio. HTML dashboards are deprecated. For more information about Dashboard Studio, see What is the Splunk Dashboard Studio? in the Splunk Dashboard Studio manual.

If you have trouble loading a dashboard that you do not own, inform the dashboard owner or your Splunk administrator of the errors. In Splunk Cloud Platform 8.2.2201 and lower, you can temporarily open an older view of the dashboard while the dashboard owner works to resolve the errors.

Temporarily open an older view of dashboards that use lower versions of jQuery

If you see problems with a dashboard that you do not own in Splunk Cloud Platform version 8.2.2201 and lower, select the info icon on that dashboard to temporarily open an older view of the dashboard. This option is not available in Splunk Cloud Platform 8.2.2202 and higher, or in Splunk Enterprise.
