See About installing Splunk add-ons to learn how to install a Splunk add-on in the following deployment scenarios.

Configure supported technologies to collect data and send to your Splunk deployment

Once you have installed supported technologies, you can manually trigger discovery of entity data collected by the Splunk Add-on for Citrix Netscaler and the Splunk Add-on for F5 Big-IP by running a load balancer entity search. Splunk IT Service Intelligence's default search takes place every 4 hours.

  1. Within ITSI, click Settings > Searches, reports, and alerts.
  2. Change the App context to All.
  3. Locate and open DA-ITSI-LB-LoadBalancer_Entity_Search.
  4. Review the search results for entity information from the supported technologies that you installed on your Splunk platform deployment.

Alternatively, you can verify entity add-on data by typing the following search directly into the Splunk IT Service Intelligence Search bar:

| tstats latest(Inventory.role) as role FROM datamodel=LoadBalancer.Inventory by host | fields + host, role

Enable entity discovery

Enable entity discovery for the module to automatically discover entities for which relevant data has been collected. See Enable the automatic entity discovery search.
