Send data to a Splunk index (Default for Environment)

This function sends data to the preconfigured Splunk Enterprise index using the Splunk HTTP Event Collector (HEC), which requires events to be formatted in a specific way. To use this function, your tenant administrator must have configured a default Splunk Enterprise instance during installation. See Cluster configuration options in the Install and Administer the Data Stream Processor manual.

Required arguments

module
Syntax: ""
Description: Set this to "".
Example: ""
dataset
Syntax: expression<string>
Description: The Splunk index you want to send data to. Defaults to main.
Example: "main"

SPL2 example

You can write the function by providing the arguments in this exact order.

...| into index("", "main");

Alternatively, you can use named arguments to declare the arguments in any order and leave out optional arguments you don't want to declare. All unprovided arguments use their default values. See SPL2 syntax for more details. The following example provides the arguments in an arbitrary order.

...| into index(dataset: "main", module: "");
