Modules

Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) version 4.12.x reached its End of Life on January 22, 2024. See the Splunk Software Support Policy for details. For information about upgrading to a supported version, see Before you upgrade IT Service Intelligence.
This documentation does not apply to the most recent version of Splunk® IT Service Intelligence. For documentation on the most recent version, go to the latest release.

End User Experience Monitoring Module configurations

Configure your ITSI deployment to receive end user experience monitoring data.

Module entity roles

See the table to identify the roles that the End User Experience Monitoring Module assigns to entities:

ITSI Module ITSI Role
ITSI End User Experience Monitoring Module end_user_application

Configure user roles

Manually add appropriate ITSI privileges to your users. The Splunk Add-on for MINT and Splunk IT Service Intelligence experience admin role conflicts when installed on the same Splunk platform instance. Add ITSI privileges based on user needs, and avoid any potential issues.

Install supported technologies

Install the ITSI supported technologies that apply to your deployment. Support add-ons for different instances are listed in the table below:

Splunk Add-on for MINT data collection

Confirm that you have configured the Splunk Add-on for MINT to send data to your ITSI deployment.

  1. Install the relevant SDK
  2. Configure data collection MINT SDK data can be sent two ways:
    • Send data using the MINT Data Collector.

Get an API token for each mobile app project using the MINT Management Console, then initialize the SDK in your mobile app project using the API key. For details, see How do I use MINT Data Collector?.

    • Send data using the HTTP Event Collector.

Get a HEC token from Splunk Enterprise, then initialize the SDK in your mobile app project using the HEC token and HEC REST URL. For details, see How do I use HTTP Event Collector with MINT?.

See About Splunk MINT data collection in the Splunk MINT Overview section of the Splunk MINT manual.

For more, see How do I use HTTP Event Collector with MINT?. For more, see How do I use MINT Data Collector?.

Verify Data Collection

Verify that the add-ons in your deployment are installed and configured correctly by checking the add-on's indices, sources or source types.
