Create entities with the Continuous Delivery module

The entity creation process within the Continuous Delivery module is the same as entity creation within Splunk IT Service Intelligence. See the Overview of entities in ITSI in the Administer Splunk IT Service Intelligence manual.

To create entities with the Continuous Delivery module, add the following alias fields to entities:

Alias field Description
pm_lifecycle_id The comma-separated list of values that map to a product management data field value. Definition of this alias field is required.
build_lifecycle_id The comma-separated list of values that map to a build data field value. This alias field is not required, but if you define this alias field, the value must be the same as the pm_lifecycle_id alias field.
test_lifecycle_id The comma-separated list of values that map to a test data field value. This alias field is not required, but if you define this alias field, the value must be the same as the pm_lifecycle_id alias field.

Create your services from the service templates, and modify the entity rules to collect data on your newly created entities. For each KPI, modify the KPI split by field to match what's coming from the source.
