How to install or upgrade to this release of Splunk UBA

Splunk UBA 5.0.5 is a maintenance release containing some feature enhancements and fixed issues.

Install or upgrade to this release of Splunk UBA

Refer to the table for information about how to install or upgrade to this release of Splunk UBA.

Splunk UBA 5.0.0 requires files from the Splunk UBA 5.0.5 installation package in order to complete the installation on RHEL, OEL, or CentOS 7.8 or later. Follow the installation instructions carefully and make sure you do not skip the steps to obtain and extract files from the Splunk UBA 5.0.5 installation package. At the end of the installation, you will be running Splunk UBA 5.0.0. You can then upgrade to the appropriate Splunk UBA version.

  2. Upgrade to Splunk UBA 5.0.5.

  1. Install Splunk UBA 5.0.0. Follow the instructions in the Splunk UBA installation checklist.
  2. Upgrade to Splunk UBA 5.0.5.

  1. Install Splunk UBA 5.0.3. Follow the instructions in the Splunk UBA installation checklist in the Splunk UBA 5.0.3 documentation for instructions.
  2. Upgrade to Splunk UBA 5.0.5.

Splunk UBA upgrade and install path summary

The following table summarizes the installation and upgrade path required for Splunk UBA releases. For example:

  • To upgrade to 5.0.4.1 from 5.0.2 on RHEL, you must first upgrade to 5.0.4, then upgrade to 5.0.4.1.
  • If you are installing Splunk UBA for the first time on RHEL, you must first install 5.0.0, then upgrade to 5.0.4, then upgrade to 5.0.4.1.

  • RHEL, OEL, and CentOS require 5.0.1 and the 5.0.3.1 installer
  • AMI or OVA systems can install release 5.0.3 directly
On RHEL, OEL, and CentOS systems:
  • Install 5.0.0
  • Upgrade to 5.0.1, and optionally to 5.0.2
  • Upgrade to 5.0.3

On AMI or OVA systems, you can install 5.0.3 directly.
