Display dashboards on TVs with your iPad using Splunk TV Companion

Use your iPad to map Splunk dashboards to Apple TV, Android TV, or Fire TV screens from anywhere.

Prerequisites

Complete the following prerequisites:

Display a dashboard on one or separate TV screens

Here's how to display a dashboard on one TV screen:

  1. On the Dashboards page, tap the dashboard or dashboard group you want to display. The dashboard opens.
  2. Tap the send-to-TV icon.
Or, you can long press the dashboard or dashboard group you want to display from the Dashboards page.
  3. Select the TVs you want to display the dashboard on.
  4. Tap Done.

Display a single enlarged dashboard across multiple TV screens

Your TVs must be in a grid arrangement to display a single enlarged dashboard across multiple TV screens. Before displaying a single enlarged dashboard across multiple TVs, create a grid arrangement dashboard collection first. See Create a TV collection in Splunk TV Companion.

Here's how to display a single enlarged dashboard across multiple TV screens:

  1. On the Dashboards page in Splunk TV Companion, long press the dashboard you want to display. Or if you want to view the dashboard before displaying it, select it and tap the send-to-TV icon.
  2. Select the TVs that you want to display the dashboard on. The TVs you select must be part of a grid arrangement and you must be using a single type of TV software. In other words, your selected TVs must all use tvOS, Android TV, or Fire TV software.
  3. Switch the Split Dashboard toggle on.
  4. Tap Done.

The split dashboard uses the default slideshow speed, dashboard scroll delay, and font size for Splunk TV.
