View usage metrics in the Splunk App for AR
In the Splunk App for AR version 1.3.0, users with the admin role can view general and Remote Collaboration usage metrics.
Prerequisites
- Install the Splunk App for AR. See Install the Splunk App for AR. *Have the admin role.
Steps
Here's how to view the admin dashboards in the Splunk App for AR:
- In the Splunk App for AR, navigate to the Dashboards tab.
- Select Splunk App for AR Usage Metrics for general usage metrics. Or select Remote Collaboration Usage Metrics for Remote Collaboration metrics.
The Splunk App for AR Usage Metrics dashboard
You can view the following metrics in the Splunk App for AR Usage Metrics dashboard. Select a time range and span to specify a time frame for your data. You can also specify the user for the Sessions by User and Events by User metrics panels.
Metric | Description |
---|---|
Active Users | Number of users who have used the app within the selected time frame. |
Total session time | Minutes spent in the Splunk AR app within the selected time frame across all users. |
Median session duration | Median session duration across all users for the selected time frame. |
Sessions by User | Number of sessions across all users within the selected time frame. You can filter sessions by specific user. |
Events by User | Log of events across all users within the selected time frame. You can filter events by specific user. |
(Phantom) Active Playbooks | Number of playbooks implemented in AR workspaces within the selected time frame. |
( Splunk Phantom) Playbooks Run | Number of playbooks run within the selected time frame. |
(Splunk Phantom) Unique Playbooks Run | Playbooks that do not lead to another playbook in Splunk Phantom. |
(Splunk Phantom) Most Run Playbooks | 5 most run playbooks within the selected time frame. |
Active Media and Notes | Number of media and notes in AR workspaces within the selected time frame. |
Number of Media and Notes by Type | Pie chart of media and notes by type within the selected time frame. |
Number of Remote Collaboration Sessions | Number of remote collaboration sessions that occured within the selected time frame. |
Usage Metrics Index Status | Indicates whether the Splunk App for AR is indexing events for this dashboard. |
The Remote Collaboration Usage Metrics Dashboard
You can view the following metrics in the The Remote Collaboration Usage Metrics Dashboard. Select a time range and span to specify a time frame for your data.
Metric | Description |

Active Remote Collaboration Sessions | Remote Collaboration sessions that have been updated within the last 5 minutes of the selected time frame. |
Historical Remote Collaboration Sessions | All Remote Collaboration sessions that occurred within the selected time frame. |
Total Time Spent Using Remote Collaboration | The total usage time for the Remote Collaboration feature across all users within the selected time frame. |
Total Remote Collaboration Users | Total number of Remote Collaboration users for this Splunk platform instance within the selected time frame. |
Average Remote Collaboration Session Length | Average time users spend in a Remote Collaboration session within the selected time frame. |
Average number of users in a session | Average number of users that participate in a Remote Collaboration session within the selected time frame. |
5 Most Recent Active Remote Collaboration Sessions | Up to 5 Remote Collaboration sessions that started within the last 5 minutes. |
5 Most Recently Completed Remote Collaboration Sessions | The 5 most recently completed Remote Collaboration sessions. |
All Active Remote Collaboration Sessions (within the last 5 minutes) | All active Remote Collaboration sessions that occurred within the last 5 minutes. |
Completed Remote Collaboration Sessions | All completed Remote Collaboration sessions across all time. |
