Configure the collection interval for the Splunk Add-on for EMC VNX
The Splunk Add-on for EMC VNX uses a local collection scheduling engine that you can configure through the ta_vnx_collection.conf
file. This configuration controls data collection intervals for each supported metric type. By default, it has the following default collection intervals (in seconds).
[default] vnx_file_inventory_interval = 3600 vnx_file_sys_performance_interval = 120 vnx_file_nfs_performance_interval = 120 vnx_file_cifs_performance_interval = 120 vnx_block_inventory_interval = 3600 vnx_block_performance_interval = 120 vnx_block_status_interval = 300
Copy default/ta_vnx_collection.conf
to local/ta_vnx_collection.conf
, update the desired values, and restart splunkd
to modify collection behavior. Decreasing collection intervals will increase data granularity, but will generate more load for the VNX system.
Important: Do not change values in default/ta_vnx_collection.conf
.
