Install, configure, and use the DSP Health application
To configure the Splunk platform to monitor historical metrics of your data pipeline, install the DSP Health app. Follow the steps below to install and use the DSP Health application.
Install the DSP Health application
Prerequisites
- To use the DSP Health application, you must set the properties described on this topic in your DSP cluster.
The Splunk Data Stream Processor comes with a DSP Health application that you can use to monitor the health of your data pipelines. To install the DSP Health App, first locate the DSP_Dashboard.tar.gz
file in the DSP installation tarball provided by your Splunk representative. This is the file that you'll upload in your Splunk software. Then, follow the steps listed on the topic matching your Splunk Enterprise deployment ignoring the Splunkbase steps.:
Use the DSP Health app
After doing the installation steps above, you can use the DSP Health app to view historical metrics for your pipelines.
- From the DSP Health app, click on Dashboards.
- Enter the pipeline ID that you'd like to retrieve historical metrics on or select All.
You can find this pipeline ID from the Data Management page, clicking on the desired pipeline, clicking on the ellipsis (...) in the top-right corner, then selecting Update Pipeline Metadata. - Click Submit to run your searches.
You can also build a new dashboard by clicking Create New Dashboard on the Dashboards lister page. For more information about creating and editing dashboards, see Create a dashboard and Edit dashboards in the Splunk Dashboards and Visualizations Manual.
