Get sensor data into your Splunk platform instance using the Splunk Edge Hub OS.

Set up the Splunk Edge Hub

You'll complete the following steps to set up your Splunk Edge Hub:

  1. Complete the prerequisites necessary for Splunk Edge Hub.
  2. Create the indexes on the indexer and all nodes where you've configured the HTTP event collector (HEC).
  3. Create a HEC token on all nodes where you've configured the HEC.
  4. Configure user permissions for your Splunk Edge Hub deployment. Specific permissions are required to complete the device registration process.
  5. Register your Splunk Edge Hub OS. During registration, you'll input the index names and configure the event collector token you've created using the Splunk App for Edge Hub and AR.
  6. Power and mount your Splunk Edge Hub device using the hardware documentation.
