Manage your Flow Models

You can manage your existing Flow Models on the Flow Models Page.

Edit a Flow Model

To make changes to the name, description, search, Correlation IDs, Step, or Attributes for a Flow Model, click Edit under the Actions column.

Delete a Flow Model

To delete a Flow Model, click Delete under the Actions column.

You cannot delete a Flow Model that is used for one or more Flows. If you want to delete a Flow Model that has Flows, first delete the Flows.

Set the visibility of your Flow Model

Flow Model visibility can be either Private or Shared. Flow Model visibility is set to Shared by default.

Set a Flow Model to Shared to save Flows and share them with users in your organization. Shared Flow Models count toward the Flow Model limit listed in your Splunk Business Flow license.

Set a Flow Model to Private for testing and development. Private Flow Models do not count toward the Flow Model limit. You can explore private Flow Models but you cannot create Flows from them or share them with other users. If you set a Flow Model to private after you create Flows, you cannot access the saved Flows.

Prerequisite
In order to change the visibility of a Flow Model, you must be an admin or a member of the sbf_modeler role, or you must have the sbf_set_visibility_flow_model capability.The sbf_set_visibility_flow_model capability allows users to set the visibility of a Flow Model from Shared to Private and the reverse. You can explore a Private Flow Model, but you cannot save your work as a Flow. If you set a Flow Model to Private after you create Flows, you cannot see the Flows.

Steps

1. In SBF, click the Flow Model icon .
2. To set a Flow Model to Private, select Private under Visibility.
3. To set a Flow Model to Shared, select Shared under Visibility.
