Splunk® Data Stream Processor

Use the Data Stream Processor

On April 3, 2023, Splunk Data Stream Processor will reach its end of sale, and will reach its end of life on February 28, 2025. If you are an existing DSP customer, please reach out to your account team for more information.
This documentation does not apply to the most recent version of Splunk® Data Stream Processor. For documentation on the most recent version, go to the latest release.

Manage connections to external data sources

The Manage Connections page allows you to create and manage reusable data connections from a single page. You can also use the Manage Connections page to view the topology of your connections, including information about the connector type, how many pipelines are currently using each connector, who created the connection, and who last edited each connection.

Use the Global Connections Management page

  1. Create a connection. See the Get data in using a connector in the Splunk DSP Getting Data In manual.
  2. From the Data Stream Processor UI, click on Data Management and then Connections to go to the Global Connections Management page.

You can now see your connection in the Connections Management page.

Create a pipeline using a connector as the data source

  1. Create a connection. See the Get data in using a connector in the Splunk DSP Getting Data In manual.
  2. From the Build Pipeline page, select the connector you configured in the previous step or, if you are using a Collect Service connector, select Read from Splunk Firehose.
  3. If you selected a connector as a data source, in the canvas select the Connection that you want to use for your connector.
  4. Add any other functions to your pipeline, and end your pipeline with a sink function as normal. You may need to perform additional transformations on your pipeline, see the Unique pipeline requirements for specific data sources chapter.
  5. Validate, save, and (optional) activate your pipeline.
