stanza

A section of a configuration file. Stanzas begin with a text string enclosed in brackets and contain one or more configuration parameters defined by key/value pairs. For example, if you edit inputs.conf to add an input, name the stanza with the source of the input. Then specify settings for that input, either the source type or host name.

The following is an example of a stanza in props.conf.

[my_sourcetype]
SHOULD_LINEMERGE = false
KV_MODE = none
