license

noun

A file containing information about the amount of data your Splunk installation is entitled to index in a single day. This amount is sometimes referred to as the entitlement. An entitlement can be made up of multiple licenses distributed across a larger deployment of Splunk instances. Splunk licenses come in two basic types: Enterprise, and Free. Each instance of Splunk Enterprise must have its own license.
