module

noun

Every element you see in a Splunk Web view is a module, from the search bar to the results. Even some elements you don't see -- like searches running in the background to populate results modules -- are modules as well. Use modules to build dashboards, form searches, and other custom UI within Splunk.

Modules are made up of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and sometimes Python. All modules live in $$SPLUNK_HOME/share/splunk/search_mrsparkle/modules/. You can see a list of modules by navigating to http://localhost:8000/modules on your Splunk server (replace with your host and port).
