search view

noun

A type of view that is used to initiate a Splunk search. Consists of, at the very least, a search bar or form search. Can also include a histogram, or flash timeline (a visual representation of the number of events that occur at points in time over the duration of a given search), and a space to display search results in list or table form.

The flash timeline view is the default search view delivered with the product.
