Search Job Inspector

noun

A tool in Splunk Web to both troubleshoot the performance of a search and understand the behavior of knowledge objects such as event types, tags, lookups and so on within the search.

Search jobs that have been recently run (or which are still running) can be inspected using the search Actions menu and selecting, Inspect search job.

Search jobs can be inspected as long as the search artifact still exists (which means that the search has not expired). The search does not still have to be running.
