license group
noun
A set of license stacks. A stack can only be a member of one license group, and only one license group can be "active" in your Splunk installation at any given time. This means that a given license master can only administer licenses of one group type at a time. The available license group types include enterprise trial/sales, enterprise trial, free, and forwarder.
