stanza

noun

A stanza is a section of a configuration file. Stanzas start with a bracketed name, usually followed by one or more configuration parameters. For example, if you edit inputs.conf to add an input, you name the stanza with the source of the input. Then you specify settings for that input -- the sourcetype or host name, for example.
