How this app works with Splunk software

The Splunk App for PCI Compliance is one of multiple Splunk apps that provide visibility into your machine data captured and indexed in Splunk software. The Splunk App for PCI Compliance, when combined with the Splunk machine data engine, provides a reporting and monitoring solution for your cardholder data environment (CDE). Use the solution by itself or combine it with other for-fee apps or free apps to provide different views into your shared data.

The data stored in Splunk Enterprise is shared. The apps provide different ways to view the data using predefined dashboards, reports, and workflow to support your business processes. Install Splunk Enterprise, install the app, configure it, and add your data to start monitoring the PCI cardholder data environment.

Security and Compliance use cases often share similar technological approaches, and Splunk software is designed to use features that can be shared. The Splunk App for PCI Compliance and the Splunk App for Enterprise Security use the same module formats and can share certain components so that they work together without duplicating efforts.
